The Flypon 1GE EPON ONU is an ultra-compact, cost-optimized Optical Network Unit designed exclusively for Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Fiber-to-the-Office (FTTO) deployments. Fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3ah standard, this 1GE EPON ONU delivers symmetric 1.25 Gbps upstream and downstream via a single optical fiber. Featuring a single 1 Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, it terminates the optical signal and provides pure wire-speed internet directly to a router, PC, or switch.   A: No. This is a dedicated EPON ONU device compliant with IEEE 802.3ah. EPON and GPON use different protocols and are not interoperable. This ONU will only register and operate with an EPON OLT. If you need dual-mode flexibility, please refer to our XPON ONU line.

  Q: Can I connect a WiFi router to this ONU?
  A: Absolutely. The single Gigabit Ethernet port on this 1GE EPON ONU is designed to connect directly to the WAN port of a third-party wireless router. The ONU itself operates in bridge mode, allowing your router to handle PPPoE dialing and provide WiFi throughout the home.

  Q: Does this EPON ONU support VLAN configuration?
  A: Yes. The EPON ONU supports 802.1Q VLAN tagging. ISPs can assign a specific VLAN for internet data on the GE port, ensuring clean service isolation and efficient bandwidth management from the OLT side.
